Lifting an extremity for personal hygiene tasks can be heavy and difficult to handle.
When you consider that one leg is on average 16% of the person’s total body weight and one arm is 5%, an example of holding an arm or leg for several minutes when washing the patient in bed, can be a strain on the carer.
Inserting a bedpan in the bed can also be a heavy and difficult process, using different slings - a Multi Support sling and two limb slings removes the strain – meaning the ceiling lift does all of the heavy work.
